Mandatory Abuse Prevention Training

Little League International has started requiring that all volunteers and board members must take one of several abuse prevention courses, and submit the certificate to us through the registration site. Our League has a zero-tolerance policy toward abuse and misconduct. All volunteers must take one of the approved courses and submit the certificate via your profile at rhrbkll.com (this site).

1. Complete an Approved Training Course

  • USA Baseball

The Abuse Awareness for Adults course provided by USA Baseball is hosted by former Chicago Cubs catcher, David Ross, takes approximately 30 minutes to complete, and provides resources to create a positive and safe environment for all athletes, coaches, parents, legal guardians, and umpires by understanding how to recognize misconduct and abuse of all types. Topics covered include how to identify and report abuse and misconduct of various kinds. The training can be accessed at USABDevelops.com/page/3532/courses. The course requires creating a free account with USA Baseball, where coaches will also find resources, including practice plans. You can download a certificate of completion by clicking on your name in the upper right hand corner of USABDevelops.com, and then clicking on the “courses” tab. Once you've completed the course, click on your name at USABDevelops.com and select "My Account." Then, click on "Courses" and "Download Certificate" for the completed course.

  • SafeSport
  • This is a general course applicable to all sports, and recognized/required by other local organizations. This can make it a good way to reduce time spent in training.
